Coffee absolute oil is extracted from coffee beans by using solvent extraction, as this preserves the deep, complex aroma which can be lost during steam distillation.
It has a warm, roasted aroma with subtle notes of caramel, chocolate, and wood. Typically, Coffee absolute oil is dark brown in colour.

The oil is extracted from roasted coffee beans that are native to the Ethiopian highlands; however, it can also be sourced in Yemen, Central and South America, Africa and Southeast Asia.
Common uses for the oil include perfumery as it adds warmth, and in candle and soap making as it delivers a cosy scent.

Coffee absolute oil blends well with vanilla absolute, tonka bean, sandalwood, cedarwood and bergamot oils.
