Steam distilled from the leaves of the Cymbopogon winterianus grass, Citronella Oil Java is a major raw material for the perfumery industry. Used as an important component in fragrances for household and domestic uses it is widely cultivated and extracted. It is also an important starter for the manufacture of other important fragrance chemicals such as Geraniol. The oil presents as a water white to pale yellow mobile liquid with a fresh grassy odour.
