Cajeput essential oil comes from the leaves and branches of a cajeput tree which is native to tropical regions. The essential oil is colourless to pale yellow and has a sweet, herbal and camphoraceous scent.

Cajeput is also known as kajuput or minyak kayu putih essential oil.

Origins of cajeput oil

Cajeput oil is native to Australia and Southeast Asia and is sourced from a cajeput tree which can be found in warmer climates. The name cajeput comes from the Malay word ā€˜kayu putih’ which means ā€˜white wood’

Australia traditionally used cajeput for its antiseptic qualities to treat pains and aches as well as chest infections and skin conditions.

What does cajeput essential oil blend with?

Cajeput essential oil blends well with many essential oils including angelica, bergamot, birch, clove, geranium, lavender and niaouli.
