Blue tansy oil is an essential oil that comes from the Tanacetum annum plant which is a small Mediterranean herb. This oil is part of the chamomile family and is sometimes named Moroccan blue chamomile. Steam distillation is used to extract the oil from the flowering tops.
The oil is sapphire blue in colour and has a sweet, fruity and herbaceous aroma.

Blue tansy oil blends well with lavender, helichrysum, cypress, clary sage, cedarwood and bergamot essential oils. It should be used sparingly as it can be overpowering.
